Every year on May 12, healthcare organizations around the world celebrate International Nurses Day, recognizing the nurses who keep healthcare systems running and patient care moving forward. Observed on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, the day honors the lasting impact nurses make across every stage of care.
At The Moxie Health Group, today is about gratitude.

To the nurses in our partner facilities across the country: thank you for the countless moments that often go unseen, but change outcomes every day.
The First to Notice
In post-acute and long-term care, clinical decline rarely happens all at once. It starts subtly. A slight oxygen change. Mild confusion. Increased fatigue. A patient simply not acting like themselves.
Nurses are often the first to recognize those early warning signs and the first to act. That vigilance can mean the difference between stabilization and hospitalization.
The Backbone of High-Acuity Care
Across the 70+ skilled nursing and long-term care facilities supported by Moxie, nurses help manage increasingly complex patient populations every day.
From ventilators and tracheostomies to IV antibiotics and advanced cardiopulmonary conditions, today’s post-acute environments demand clinical skill, adaptability, and constant communication. Nurses are at the center of it all.
They advocate for patients. Coordinate care. Escalate concerns. Support families. And continue showing up shift after shift with professionalism and compassion.
Education Builds Confidence
At Moxie, education is not treated like a one-time training session. It is built into the care model itself.
Through recurring in-services, case discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration, Moxie providers work alongside CNAs, LVNs, RNs, and administrators to strengthen confidence and support earlier intervention.
“A huge part of our program is the ongoing education we provide,” Jessica Orona, Vice President of Clinical Operations, shared in a recent Moxie article. “Our providers give back to the facilities through in-services that build confidence at every level, from CNAs to RNs.”
Putting Teams First
Dr. Gustavo Ferrer, founder and CEO of The Moxie Health Group, believes exceptional patient care starts with investing in healthcare teams first.
“By placing our teams at the forefront, we pave the way for an exceptional patient experience,” Dr. Ferrer said.
That philosophy is reflected in the nurses who continue leading with clinical excellence, empathy, and resilience every day.
Thank You to Our Nurses
This International Nurses Day, we celebrate the nurses across every facility, specialty, and shift who continue making a difference in the lives of patients and families nationwide.
Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for your leadership. Thank you for the care you provide every single day.
