Last month in Tallahassee, Last month in Tallahassee, leaders from across Florida’s long-term care sector gathered at the State Capitol for Lobby Wednesday with the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA), bringing focus to the policies and priorities shaping post-acute care.
Conversations throughout the day also highlighted how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, are poised to play a critical role in advancing care delivery and supporting clinical teams.
Representing The Moxie Health Group was Chief Clinical Innovation Officer Viviane Manara, who joined partners including Excelsior Care Group to advocate for residents, families, and the frontline teams delivering care every day.
Advocacy plays a critical role in shaping the future of long-term and post-acute care. The conversations happening at the Capitol directly impact the facilities, providers, and communities at the center of this work. As healthcare continues to evolve, ensuring that post-acute care remains part of these discussions is more important than ever.
“What an incredible experience supporting Excelsior Care Group at Lobby Wednesday to represent the post-acute care setting in Florida,” Manara said. “Being part of conversations that directly impact our residents and the future of long-term care is both an honor and a responsibility.”
FHCA’s Lobby Wednesday brought together a wide range of organizations and leaders committed to strengthening the sector. In its recap, FHCA highlighted the energy and engagement at the Capitol, thanking participants for “packing the Capitol and advocating for your residents and team members,” and emphasizing that Florida’s long-term care sector continues to be a “Gold Standard” because of both the care delivered and the advocacy behind it.
For The Moxie Health Group, participating in these conversations reflects a broader commitment to advancing care through both innovation and collaboration. Across its growing network, the organization supports skilled nursing and assisted living communities with clinical resources, pulmonary expertise, and technology designed to improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospital transfers.
“There is a significant opportunity within the healthcare system right now,” Manara said. “Nursing homes/post-acute settings are no longer peripheral, they are essential! As patient complexity increases and hospital systems evolve, strengthening post-acute care infrastructure is critical to ensuring continuity, quality outcomes, and sustainable healthcare delivery.”
That perspective is central to The Moxie Health Group’s work, particularly as the organization continues to integrate solutions like MoxieLink to better support care teams and enhance coordination across settings.
“At The Moxie Health Group Health, our mission is clear: promote better, integrated care through innovation, MoxieLink and technology while advocating for the funding and resources our post-acute communities deserve,” Manara said. “Stronger support means stronger outcomes for our residents, families, and frontline teams.”
As the needs of patients and providers continue to grow more complex, advocacy at the policy level remains essential. Events like Lobby Wednesday ensure that the voices of those delivering care every day are represented in the decisions shaping its future.
For The Moxie Health Group, that work goes hand in hand with its mission—supporting post-acute communities, strengthening care delivery, and helping build a more connected and sustainable healthcare system.
