The future of healthcare innovation took center stage in South Florida at The Moxie Health Group's first-ever conference: “A Weekend of Connection, Collaboration, and Care.”
The two-day event united clinicians, innovators, and healthcare leaders from across the country to exchange ideas on the challenges and opportunities shaping long-term and post-acute care.
Redefining Long-Term Care
Founded by pulmonologist and critical care specialist Dr. Gustavo Ferrer, The Moxie Health Group is redefining care for patients, providers, and communities through a blend of clinical excellence, data-driven innovation, and education.
At the core of Moxie’s model is MoxieLink, a HIPAA-compliant digital platform that unifies patient records and integrates AI-powered transcription, analytics, and automated coding validation. By streamlining provider workflow, MoxieLink helps clinicians make faster, more informed decisions, reducing administrative burden and improving communication between care teams.
The results are tangible: partner facilities using MoxieLink protocols have seen up to a 15% reduction in 30-day hospital readmissions. For residents, that means fewer stressful hospital transfers; for staff, it means greater confidence managing complex cases on-site.
A Weekend of Innovation and Inspiration
That same spirit of innovation drove the conversation throughout Moxie’s inaugural conference. Sessions explored topics such as reducing avoidable hospital readmissions, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrating AI into patient care.

Keynote speakers included Dr. Mark Cannon of Northwestern University, who emphasized the importance of connecting research to practice, and leadership coach Eric Konovalov, who spoke on building high-performing teams grounded in empathy and purpose. Together, they inspired attendees to envision a healthcare system that is both technologically advanced and deeply human.
“Moxie’s mission has always been to merge technology with compassion,” Dr. Ferrer said. “We built this conference to spark dialogue, share ideas, and celebrate the people behind the progress — the clinicians, caregivers, and leaders who make healthcare better every day.”
Continuing the Conversation
Beyond the conference, Moxie continues to engage healthcare professionals and the public through The Dr. Ferrer Podcast, where Dr. Ferrer and Marketing Director Amanda Ferrer explore topics on aging better, breathing easier, and living with resilience. Each episode reflects the same balance of science and heart that defines Moxie’s mission to make care smarter and stronger.
Building on that mission, Moxie also partnered with the Florida Health Care Association to develop an educational course for nurse practitioners serving Florida’s growing aging population — extending the weekend’s momentum into real-world training and impact.

Looking Ahead
With its first conference complete, Moxie Health Group has set the tone for what’s next: a future where data and empathy work hand in hand to improve outcomes and elevate the standard of care.
As the company expands its reach across South Florida and beyond, one thing remains constant — the belief that innovation means little without connection, and that the best healthcare is built not just on technology, but on trust.
